KidMint can help families track virtual coins and parent-defined rewards, but it is not a bank, debit card, or real-money payout system.
Decide what allowance means in your house
Some families pay for chores. Some separate chores from allowance. Some use rewards that have no cash value. Any of those can work if the rule is clear.
Before choosing an app, decide whether you want to track money, points, privileges, or a mix of family rewards.
Understand virtual coins
KidMint uses virtual coins as family points. Kids earn coins after a parent approves completed chores, then use those coins to request rewards the parent created.
Coins do not have cash value inside KidMint. If a parent wants coins to represent pocket money, they can create a reward such as '$5 allowance' and handle that money outside the app.
What a non-bank chore app should make clear
If an app is not a financial product, it should say so plainly. Families should understand whether the app stores money, moves money, issues cards, or only tracks family-defined points.
- KidMint does not hold money
- KidMint does not issue a debit card
- KidMint coins are virtual family points
- Parents approve every reward request
